Latin Mass


In regards to the Latin Mass. If someone asks you, "What do you get out of this Mass, I don't hear what is going on?" "I don't understand what the priest is saying"? This is common of people who are so used to the changes in the Mass since Vatican II. The beautiful mystery of the Mass was taken away and replaced by celebrations of the Eucharist. The Mass is calvary and should be regarded as nothing less. Adding different variations to the Mass is deplorable. There are rituals of different customs that are being added such as dancing and folk music and so many other forms of culture. These are not the tradtions of our faith. This is something that man has added in to "spruce up" the Mass and glorify themselves. This is calvary not a Birthday party. I see so much socialization instead of reverence and it is enough to make you cry and I have, literally, cried over this.
Upon entering a Church, I ask everyone to put themselves at that moment in time where our Lord died for us. Socialization is disrespectful to Jesus, and to others who want to show respect and pray. The Mass is a serious time, and should be taken for what it is, and not what we want to make of it. Also if you look around, after a New Mass is said, everyone hurrys out the door. What happened to offering a Thanksgiving after Mass to God.? You still see this in the Latin Mass and is extremely important to Thank God for what He has given to us-Himself. We have forgotten some very important traditions.
"This Mass was used for about 1500 years and was dated as far back as the 6th century in the time of St Gregory".1 " The 1570 Papal Bull Quo Primum stated that this Mass could be used without any conflicts."1 This certainly isn't true because the priests have to get permission by the local bishops to say this Mass which is totally absurd. The late Pope John Paul II (God rest his soul) stated that "It is necessary to show respect and understanding of those who wish to attend the Latin Mass." 1" He also stated that as far as possible these sentiments and desires should be accommodated."1 They certainly make it difficult for those of us who would like to attend. I speak of those who have to travel long distances to attend Mass. This is far from accomodating. There must be something said for this, because those who travel, do it because of their genuine love of Christ. I find it hard to understand why it is not offered in every parish, at least one Mass? Those who are responsible have to answer that question when they come face to face with Christ. We are all sinners and we all have to answer to God in the end. I am no better than anyone else, and I am so afraid for all the souls, including my own.
In the New Mass there are no references to the sacrifice of the Mass, but this is a sacrifice of Jesus to the Father on behalf of us. He did indeed die for our sins. The new Mass (Vatican II) clearly calls this a celebration of the Eucharist. Although we should celebrate and praise Jesus for offering himself up for the forgiveness of our sins, the Mass is calvary and should not be confused to what it stands for. There is a variety of personalization in the new Mass and it strays from the uniformity of the Traditional Mass.
The Latin Mass and what it represents is said exactly the same each time and isn't that what calvary was all about. Although people complain about it difficult to understand, it is supposed to be a mystery. Also the Latin missal has the English text right next to the Latin so you can follow along. This just takes a little getting used to but if you read you will see how beautiful the words are.
The catechism on the One Holy and Apostolic Church clearly states that the unity was formed in the Church. This is been diverted in the New Mass. It has been conformed to fit us, and it is not all about us. We are being sorely mislead. Once the Holy Spirit revealed this grace of the knowledge of the truth, I felt very deceived, and rightfully so. I went through a number of emotions that anyone might go through if one would have been hurt by deception. I decided to carry this cross and bear it as joyfully as I can. I am glad to know the truth. Even though it hurts sometimes. You can feel so very alone. It is so sad to see how many people have been led away from tradition and into a new form that doesn't support the true teaching of Christ. Satan has definitely infiltrated the Church.
I want to make it clear that I am not bashing anyone. I have been given a grace by God and not all understand it but it truly was an awakening for me. I see that not only do lay people, but also priests and religious are involved in this deception. I find that they try to defend themselves with excuses and are not even aware of it. I pray for those conscious of this, and those ignorant to these truths.
I ask for only people to be open to the graces the Lord has to offer, and to give the Latin Mass a fair chance. Attend a Mass and compare intellectually and fairly the differences. I hope God will allow you understand. I pray especially for Traditionalists and ask to give them courage to stand up for their faith and not sit idle and wait for something to happen. We need to build up the community and restore what has been lost for a long time.
Please pray for the Tradition of our Church and those who support it.
If you have never attended a Latin Mass, I suggest going to a High Mass. At the High Mass they use Holy water and incense as forms of honor to God. The traditions are very much present all through the mass.

Honor and Glory for Who???

I have concerns about being honored for the work done in the church. We don't and should not be compensated for the work we do for Christ. I do believe that we should encourage each other. The acts of giving medals and certificates of achievement should be discouraged. We should not look for these rewards here on earth. The goal is to obtain this in heaven. I believe this is a contradiction to our teaching and we should not allow it. People receive unnecessary praise for their contributions given to the Lord. We should be doing works of charity and not compromising our salvation. It is not done intentionally but it is important to share this insight with others. The saints were great models and we should learn to imitate them. If you read especially of St Francis and St. Clare's lives, the incentive to pattern after them can increase our spiritual growth. Encouragement is extremely important to our spiritual well being.The saints lived the simple and reposeful life and we should do our best to imitate them.
Accepting these forms of appreciation is a form of glorification that we should not conform to. To do so would be in vain. We the recipient should take any form of acknowlegement as a form of encouragement beneficial to our souls, and nothing more. We should not allow for these types of glorifications. It is not all about ourselves becoming the center of attention. We should give of our talents to glorify God.
We can quietly thank someone in person, or in the form of a letter, but it is best to keep these things in perspective and examine our conscience in everything we do. Discerning correctly the virtous acts accordingly. Most recipients and givers are completely innocent in their cordial acts, and sincerity is behind all their motives, but insight gained in this can be the difference in our salvation if done correctly. God will hold us responsible for our knowledge. For those who are clueless to the perception of what idolizing themselves is all about He will grant them pardon if their acts are done with reverence to Our Savior.
It is best to keep things simple and quiet.

The Problem with Certain Ministries

The problem with certain ministries is that they can take away from the reason we pay homage to our Lord. When we do something beneficial for our salvation it should be done without praise to ourselves. We may not think we are giving ourselves rewards, but in fact are. If we do something quietly and with sacrifice we are serving our purpose to fulfill the promises of Christ. I will give some example of how we glorify ourselves without even realizing we are doing it. Before I do, I would like to explain that there are numerous graces that can be obtained through our submission, if it is genuine. Let me point out that this is not just something I am stating, Christ has promised this to those who truly conform to his teaching. The saints are great examples to which we can apply this obligation. I use the word obligation because we are obliged to adhere to the word of the Lord. We owe Him everything we are and have in our possesions. We should use every talent and ability for His glory. If you really contemplate this we will find that most of us are sorely lacking in compliance. Most of us are not as humble or meek as we should be. We of course could never obtain the highest degree of humility or any other virtue but we have to accrue the level of our state that God is asking from us. Discernment is part of this process. Upon understanding all these things we must act accordingly. This means we have to actually do what the Lord is asking from us. This is not always easy because it involves some vanity on our part or lack of courage to do this. This also may take some time to overcome. Prayer is very important in obtaining the assistance of The Holy Spirit. Remember that however difficult these tasks may seem, they are necessary to our salvation. If we offend God we will suffer greatly.
In regards to ministries I have just one of many examples of why I decided to leave the Stewardship of my church. I believe that The Holy Spirit was guiding me to a more prayerful and quiet kind of practice of my faith. He was and is still continuing to assist me in giving myself to God and not to glorify myself. You see not all ministries of the church are fruitless but some are not in compliance with the true teaching of our Jesus Christ. Example: I was asked to take care of handling the turning over of the missals at the appropriate season of the church. I didn't know who was doing it before, because it was not made public. I found out who took care of this and she showed me how it was done. I thought this is a service I could give the Lord without fanfare. I could help my pastor so that he could take care of other important duties. This is a necessity because of the use of these missals for mass. I figured no one except a few kids who were learning how to service our Lord would be involved. This would give us time to be quiet and keep company with Jesus as well as assisting in a ministry that would be beneficial. The next thing you know I was instructed by the stewarship coordinator to get more help and involve more older people who needed something to do. It ended up being quite a few adults and the task of changing over the missals went by very quickly and we were out of the church in a flash. There ended up being very few kids getting involved for whatever the reasons may have been (not enough children available, I never even found out). I had worked with the children in the past and it took several hours but it went well and gave us all time in the House of the Lord. By adding so many people, it was done too swiftly and seemed like an assembly line in a factory with everyone wanting to finish up quickly and get out. That is not what this should be about. Hurry up and get it over with. Then on top of it they wanted to put this in the "stewardship" book and make it a ministry for people to get involved in. Well there goes all the quiet acts we can do for our Lord. This is not meant to criticize anyone and the intentions were good. I know the assistance was meant to be helpful. There was no malice involved. I am stating that we are in too much of a hurry to finish things when it comes to servicing God and we don't need to broadcast it for everyone to see in a book. I feel that this is misunderstood by others. We can be seen as well, by others, because teaching by our actions is important as well. We just can't get overly zealous about how we go about matters that shouldn't pertain to us. We have to keep in perspective the reasons we involve ourselves, and for the gain of our salvation, by glorifying our Lord appropriately. There other examples I can elaborate on due to the ministries that I feel should be avoided, and I will allow for this at another time.

100% Faithful to our Priests

In order to be 100% faithful to God, we must be 100% faithful to our priests. This has been an on going problem and the need to make a stand for our priests is indeed making a stand for Jesus Christ. I will explain what I mean by this statement. There are many times when we try and justify things, for example, " If I only have a small piece of cake it won't be so bad", or "Just ignore it, its not really so bad". We all tend to do these things and we are all guilty of doing this. This does not make it right. These are some of the things that we as good Catholics, should be working on to improve in our lives. I think most people would agree with this. So why do we find something so easy, as letting our priests, be our priests, so hard to do. I am not trying to confuse anyone here I am just trying to prove some points. I will get into this, I promise. Why it is very difficult to deny that piece of cake, or candy, or ice cream, at times? Well we all know the answer to that is simple. It should be easy enough to allow a priest to perform his role as a shepherd feeding his sheep, don't you think???? Simple again, just let him right? WRONG! Well if this is the case, then why do we support just the opposite? Every time we support, by attending a norvus ordo mass, we take away from the role of the priest. Harsh, I don't think so. Even a priest who does not believe in bringing back the Traditional Tridentine Mass is being denied full access to his priesthood. He may love the liberalism of the Catholic faith which is clearly Protestantism, but he is truly robbed of his true intimacy with our Lord, and his flock who are faithful to his calling.
You see by supporting certain ministries of our church, we are taking away the duties of our priests. By allowing lay people to deliver our Savior to us is hurting priests immensely. This is hurting us as well, whether the priest or the lay person believe it or not. This is where the justification comes into play that I was speaking of before. I don't know how many times I have heard the advocate approach to this "Well no one is worthy to hold the Body of Christ",this is so true, and the truth is that only our priests hands are consecrated. This was the role of our priests to deliver our salvation to us by the hands that were called to do this. You are taking away from him his Intimacy with our Lord. This is the same analogy if some was to be unfaithful to ones spouse in an intimate way. Who would want that?? Trust me, that is what we are doing by supporting and actively supporting the liberal ministries of our church. Do you really want to hurt your priest in this most precious union he has with God? Most people may not know this and are not aware that this is what is happening and those beautiful men who say nothing are suffering beyond our comprehension. If a true holy priest loves our Lord we should allow him to do just that, love Him. We should pray for them and especially those priests who think it is ok to believe in the modernistic approach. Even most priests don't realize what is being taken from them. This for sure is satan entering our church and loving every minute he railroads one of our priests into believing that this liberal way of thinking is a good thing. There are traditons and they are established for a reason and not meant to be manipulated by us or the hierarchy. God created the tradition and we should uphold these teachings. This is such a tiny piece of the problems with modern Catholicism. Children are being taken away from the priest and his reading of the Gospel of Christ to have it being told by a lay person. This is also being justified, (remember at the beginning of this article, I would get into this). " Well the children need to hear the Gospel on their level so they can understand it". Ok now we take them away from the family that should be together, how God has intended. We take the children away from our priest, again, taking away his role to spread the Word of the Lord. Why??? Didn't we all do just fine as children in mass with our parents together listening to the priest as the Holy Spirit came forth through him??? Sure we did!! Maybe we didn't quite understand it all, maybe we don't even now, this is part of the mysteries.....(ahhh yes those mysteries which we have gotten away from), but we were together as one body sharing in the sacrifice at calvary. Did they pull the faithful away to explain calvary on a level that they could understand when the actual event took place? NOT!! So why are we doing this?? What right do we have in justifying these matters. These are just some of the poor excuses we are using without most people even realizing this is happening. I mean would it be ok to say something like "well a little ponography is ok!!! if they show off just a little, they are really not totally naked"?? Come on! It is the insinuation of all this that makes the devil revel in his victories against us and his priests. We need to take a good hard look at all these ministries involving the modern day Catholic church and depict what is going on and do something about it. By refusing to have any part of it is the way to give to your priest and to God back the intimacy they so deserve with each other, and for our souls to benefit from their union with each other. Help us, and our priests, to not justify these absurdities. There is a wonderful article that says so much better what I can't in the link column called Veritas which is very worthwhile reading. There is so many other areas I could elaborate on that we take from our priests and I would like to get into but I will leave this for another time. Please understand that if we continue to support liberalism in our church we are taking away from that crucial percentage that is 100% belonging to Our Lord and His priests. God Bless and ask the Holy Spirit for the graces to be open to this.

From The Heart

At 43 years old I have lived through good and bad times just as anyone else has. Anyone who has gained any wisdom and most of us has, through just the experiences in our lives. Some people have more strength so it seems, than others and we are all aware of this. We are all unique carrying lifes burdens and joys, handling situations in our own ways. That is how God has created us and we should appreciate ours, and others, in their precious distinct qualities.
Recently, In my life, and the in the lives of others I know, have been quite the eye opener for me. I have learned more in the past several weeks than think I can ever remember. I have found out that no matter what happens to anyone of us that the most important, and only meaniful aspect is that of our own spirituality. God is and should always be the utmost concern above all else, regardless of whatever happens in our lives.
God has given me a grace and another cross to see the pains and sufferings of not only myself , but of those around me. I am truly grateful for this. I only hope that I can say and do the right things to comfort them. I pray to the Holy Spirit for this guidance. Similarly some of us have been bearing the same cross. Some have had other difficulties that have been affecting them and I have witnessed them and feel their sufferings as well. This is what Christ did when He suffered for us but of course on a much greater magnitude. This hindsight has brought a entente of joy and suffering to my life.
Most of these people are good devout Catholics, some not, but all in the same are God's people all trying to strive for the same goal of true happiness. Some of us know who that is...God Himself and others are trying to seek it out and haven't found Him yet. We must remember through all our misgivings, sufferings, joys that there is only one path and one direction to head. That is the path and the road that leads us to eternal happiness in the arms of the only one that can comfort us. That doesn't mean that we don't need human comfort and we should reach out to others and show our love. Because showing our love for each other is where you see Christ truly at work. This also comes from Him. So give someone a hug.
There have been major changes recently in my life and most of them not too good. I will carry a heavy cross. I have turned to God for my strength and I know He will and has already given it to me. Hence the strength to write this is from Him. some of this suffering I am going through is some of the worst I have ever endured. This is because the suffering I am doing is for Him. His cross is heavier than any other cross I could carry myself.
Although there is much pain and suffering in this world, there is also Hope, Faith and Love. The greatest is Love....never forget this.
He lets me see how people come together who truly love Him and are able to be there for each other to support and encourage and pray for them.
Always remember too He tells me if you cannot receive me sacramentaly, that I will always be there for you. May we always be in tune to the true light of God and be open to the graces that allow Him to heal our hearts. Remember He loves us.
