Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Today we venerate Archbishop Fulton Sheen. I love to watch his program reruns of "Life is Worth Living", and have enjoyed his books. Mostly, what he stood for as a devout Catholic priest, is what I admire the most. He was a true traditonal priest. He knew the importance of the truth in Christ's teaching and did not try to "tweak it" to his own liking. He stood by the solid teaching of our faith and in his own humorous ways made us enjoy his gifts. He certainly was a gift to us. Let us remember him today and pray for his soul. Requiescat in Pace

I didn't even know he was Venerable yet. Thanks. Do you know when he became venerable by chance?

Yes, I do on 9/14/02 the Congregation for the Cause of Saints granted him the title "Servant of God" and he was opened to the cause for canonization. See the link I have posted on the side of my site about him and it will tell you more. Thanks for inquiring and keep him in your prayers

Thanks, Ginny. I'll add him to the Catholic Wikipedia.
